Erika is a dedicated health information professional with more than seventeen years of progressive experience across healthcare operations, leadership, and education. She currently serves as Department Chair of the Health Information Technology at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, North Carolina, where she is committed to preparing future leaders in health information through practical, workforce-focused education. Previously, she served as Manager of Health Information Management and Privacy Officer for a local health system, developing deep expertise in organizational management, privacy, compliance, informatics, and interoperability. Erika has demonstrated sustained professional leadership through long-standing service to the North Carolina Health Information Management Association (NCHIMA), including recent roles as President and Director. A respected speaker and mentor, she actively supports professional development within her community. Erika holds a Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University and dual bachelor鈥檚 degrees in Health Information Management and Health Services Management from East Carolina University.
