Call for Elected Leadership Nominations
We are seeking qualified candidates who are passionate about driving the profession forward and making a real impact on the future of Health Information. Descriptions, duties, and qualifications for each of these elected positions are available in the 2025 Handbook for Elected Positions. All terms begin on January 1, 2026. Applications are due March 31, 2025.

Open Elected Positions
Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2025, for the following positions:

pd探花 Board President/Chair-elect (1 position)
The President/Chair leads the board of directors, which governs the association, sets strategy, budget, and maintains fiduciary oversight. The President/Chair serves as an ex-officio member of all volunteer groups.
pd探花 Board Directors (3 positions)
The Directors serve as voting members of the Board of Directors (BoD) as well as voting members of the House of Delegates. The Board of Directors governs the association, sets strategy, budget, and guides fiduciary oversight. Members of the Board are also called upon to represent the association at meetings and to speak on behalf of pd探花 and the health information profession.
CCHIIM Commissioner (1 position)
The Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM) serves the public by establishing, implementing, and enforcing standards and procedures for certification and recertification of health informatics and information management (HIIM) professionals.
The Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) exists to improve and adapt the education strategy for HI and related professions, focused on future opportunities and challenges. It is responsible for fostering support and adoption of new initiatives and improvements to curriculum, credentials, academic programs, and resources. CEE focuses on the changing needs of the students and working professionals and consider innovative ways of providing world class education in health information.
House of Delegates Speaker-elect (1 position)
The Speaker-elect supports the House of Delegates (HoD) and along with the Speaker, leads the House Leadership Team and serves on the Board of Directors as Speaker functioning as the primary liaison between the HoD and BoD. The HoD annually elects a Speaker-elect.
Application Process
pd探花 accepts applications for open elected positions through March 31 for terms that begin the following January (e.g., to be considered for a term that begins in 2026, the deadline for applications would be March 31, 2025).
All position applications are reviewed by the pd探花 Nominating Committee, which then makes recommendations and creates a ballot of candidates.
In July and August of each year, elections take place and eligible pd探花 members are invited to cast their vote.
Please note: pd探花 Student Members are not eligible to apply for these positions and unable to vote in the elections.

How to Apply
Submission Deadline: March 31, 2025, for a term that begins in 2026.
Your application package should include:
- Completed Elected Position Application Form:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation*
- Current Curriculum Vitae or Resume (in PDF format and less than 10 pages)
- Professional photo (current, professional headshot in JPG format; 200KB or smaller)
- Position Statement containing the reasons for seeking the position, qualifications, relevant experience, and vision for pd探花. This summary should be no more than two paragraphs.听听
*The letters of recommendation must be in PDF format and contain signatures of authors.听 Members from the following pd探花 groups are not eligible to write letters of recommendations:听 Nominating Committee, Board of Directors, CCHIIM, CEE, candidate鈥檚 family members, or pd探花 staff.听
- Former pd探花 staff are not eligible for candidacy consideration until 12 months after ending employment with pd探花.
- As part of the application process, applicants may be asked to participate in an interview(s) with members of the pd探花 Nominating Committee and asked questions regarding the position, their qualifications, and the relevant competencies for the applied position.
- The application packet is valid for one year.
